The Performer: At a Glance

Appearance: Ray is taller than your average Miqo'te, standing at 5' 9" with a fit build; he is lean, relatively muscular, and is much stronger than he appears at first glance. He does his best to keep in shape as dancing requires quite a bit of stamina and endurance. His hair and fur were previously dyed a rich, deep purple shade that tended to blend into black towards the ends and a few other areas throughout. He has since allowed his natural, near black color to come through and has only dyed the ends of his hair that same purple shade. His amber eyes and natural or resting expression make him look much more austere than he actually is, but he's always quick to offer a warm, welcoming smile when he's broken from his thoughts.Personality: Ray is a charming Miqo with a big heart and a passion for performing and music. He is as much of a gentleman as one might imagine and is ever ready to meet and interact with new people. It's almost impossible to say if everything but warm and kind and he always seems to be in a positive and upbeat mood. Despite the fact that Ray is quite the social butterfly, he understands and respects peoples’ space and privacy and will never pry for information or ask intrusive questions. He would much rather get to know you at your own pace and let you open up to him over time, much like the flowers he tends to so carefully and lovingly in his garden.

The Performer: Continued

Ray often does what he can to ensure his primary living is made doing what he loves most; performing. He's not been on many a stage, but when he’s there he truly shines his brightest. More recently, Ray has performed alongside a few friends in a group called Stille Volk, where their songs and dance are heavily influenced by the Shroud and more tribal themes.In between performing, Ray had previously done odd jobs here and there primarily throughout the Shroud, but was not limited to Gridania and did travel to a few further places. Those jobs typically included bar tending, serving or hosting. His warm and charming personality make him perfectly suited for interacting with people on a regular basis, though, it certainly doesn't hurt that he's got a nice smile and a pretty face either.Previously, Rayha'to's job entailed bartending for the former Open Heart Hearth, but as times change, so too do people's aspirations. The Hearth may have closed it's doors for the final time, but the memories made there will be forever burned into Ray's heart. He's moved on now to start his own joint venture with Carnelian and Endo; enter Charmed Entertainment. Born from their joint love of all things music, performing and entertaining, Ray, Carne and Endo have made a new place for people to come relax and enjoy a variety of events.As if he wasn't busy enough, Ray has also somehow managed to land a spot as a professional wrestler with NEW (New Era Wrestling.) Here, he dons the incredibly contrary to his usual persona of Onyx Wasp, the first of Killer Bee's Yellow Jackets.Overall, Ray really seeks to meet new people and create meaningful and lasting relationships. He welcomes people with open arms and always aims to please.

A brief overview of notable people in Rayha'to's life.

Kara Kazzak
His younger sister and previously thought to be deceased (a series of events that Rayha'to is very unlikely to speak about.) Kara is a warm and bubbly individual that has a knack for making a room feel brighter just by being there and she is deeply cherished by her brother, despite the fact that Rayha'to was actually adopted into her family as a young boy. As most siblings are wont to do, Ray and Kara will often poke fun at one another— sometimes with a friendly insult and other times with the most embarrassing stories they can recall about one another, but at the end of the day the two have a bond that is unmatched.Dyvlje Cudovyste & Laela Walpurgis
Despite their initially aloof and somewhat cold demeanor, Ray somehow managed to worm his way into Dyvlje's and Laela's hearts as their "flippant bard." They're an unusual and unlikely trio of friends, but regardless of their rough past, Rayha'to holds nothing less than the purest form of admiration for them and treasures them dearly. Ray will claim that he always knew they were softer than they allowed people to assume, regardless of how much Dyvlje and Laela may or may not agree and like it or not, he won't let them shake him. Rayha'to's first girlfriend; This was a relationship that began as employer and associate. Maria is the sole owner of the Open Heart Hearth where Ray was hired to bartend. While the two seem to outwardly have opposite personalities, they discovered through many interactions that, like the sayings go, things aren't always as they seem on the surface. What started out as harmless banter and teasing, eventually grew into genuine feelings. Maria, for the first time since Ray could recall, had treated him with patience, respect and honesty, and took time to get to know him in ways that most hadn't.
Ray will always have the utmost respect for Maria and is grateful to her for not only giving him a place to work, but for introducing him to a place where he's been able to feel at home and build new friendships. But, she now also holds a special place in his heart.__Rose _{Surname Unknown}__
On most occasions, Rose seems to always knows just what buttons to press to really test Rayha'to's seemingly abundant levels of patience. It would seem at first glance, the two don't get along at all. But, their "friendship" might actually be better than it appears, though, it is a bit complicated due to Rose's nature.Endo Kouris _{fka Hotgo}
Endo (in Ray's opinion) is a warm and reliable companion with an affinity for betting and competing even when other people might strongly urge him against it. The two became fast friends during Blitzball, likely because of Endo's ability to make friends with the ghosts at Haukke Manor and Ray's intense distaste of them... Backstories aside, Ray considers Endo one of his closest and most valuable friends now and whether the Viera knows and accepts it or not, Ray plans on staying friends for as long as possible. In whatever adventure Endo finds himself getting into, Ray will always be a supporter in any way he can be.__Laelia Redacted__
Little is known about Ray's relationship with Lae, as he doesn't often mention her for her own privacy, but when he does, he speaks with an idol-like admiration and will often be heard humming one particular song whenever he's reminded of her.__Fiore Redacted__
Ray's best friend and Laelia's brother, Ray often finds himself tailing the Miqo'te to keep up with his wild antics and manage the trouble he sometimes gets them both in. Their love for one another often appears as much more than platonic to outsiders, but it's nothing more than the defnition of a the perfect bromance. (See J.D. and Turk, Scrubs for reference.)

I think it's pretty common for people to just go by their character's name so, Ray works for me! Alternatively, Dandy or Cat if you'd rather go by discord.On the topic of RP, I think most things were covered in my will and won't section but I should also mention that I'm a semi-para and para RPer (I think that's how it's worded??) and I am 100% okay with both in game and discord RP. I have no preference at all.
I've been playing FFXIV since 2013 but didn't really start dabbling in RP until about a year or so later. I'd like to think I've grown a lot and managed to develop my own style over all this time. I have no issues differentiating between OOC and IC and I also understand that, similarly to real life, characters are going to interact in millions of different ways. I certainly don't expect Ray to get along with everyone he meets and I'd hope others feel the same. I love for things to develop organically between characters; it makes RP much more interesting that way!
I know there's a lot more to RP and growth that I haven't gotten to experience yet and that's why I've made this carrd.Outside of RP, I am a pretty simple person. I try to be as welcoming and friendly as the character I play (I'd like to think there's quite a bit of me in his personality), though, sometimes it takes a little bit for me to warm up and get talkative in large groups. Anyway, I'm a pretty casual gamer and I'm still learning a lit about XIV with it being my first MMO. I take my time and I'm really just here to have a good time and meet some like-minded friends.
